Message from the Executive Director, Jeff Shivers
As we start a new year of
competition BBQ, let me remind our members that this
is YOUR organization and it can be as good as you
want it to be. We have, in the past year, grown in
numbers and expanded into new territories.
If you as a member have any
questions or concerns, feel free to contact our
office and we will make every effort to resolve
them.

Presentation to Kash For Kids |
 |
At the December IBCA meeting, the
check presentation of $5,300.00. This the money
raised from the entries of the Obie Cue Backyard
Chicken Challenge ($2,550.00) and the IBCA raffle
held at the Traders Village BBQ ($2,750.00). Those
that were present also brought diapers and other
items for the Rainbow Room. Louise Greve, Kash for
Kid representative, always has a story to tell as to
what the money is used for but by presenting the
money at this time also helps to make Christmas
better for those that might not have one. We
appreciate all that have supported this charity,
Traders Village, Obie Cue Backyard Chicken Challenge
and the IBCA |

General Information |
|
Each year
in October I send out letters to all of the
promoters so that we can get their dates onto the
calendar for the upcoming year. I would like to say
that this year the response was great—as you will
note we have approximately 80 events on the calendar
for the upcoming year. As the events grow in
numbers that means we will need some additional Head
Judges to cover all of the events.
You will also note that we have gotten a number of
new events and I receive calls on a weekly basis
regarding the possibility of sanctioning new
events.
Louisiana
seems to be bursting open with new events in
Farmerville, Lafayette and Gonzales and we are
talking to other locations.
If you or someone you know would like to get
involved in helping in the judging area, please have
them get in touch with us.

“If love could have saved you, you
would have lived forever.”
You left this life so suddenly with
no time for goodbye.
Your leaving left a void that only
you can fill. Now, all we have are the memories and
your pictures in frames. Your memory is our
keepsake with which we will never part. God has you
in his keeping and we have you in our hearts.
My heart still aches with sadness and
secret tears still flow. A day does not pass when
you are not in our thoughts and prayers.
Always remembered.
Always loved.
Your loving wife,
Laverne, children,
family and friends |
